In slow motion, it heads for the floor at incredible speed and you wish that he would use his fast reflexives to catch it, to say that he was only telling you these words because he couldn't bring himself to tell you how he truly felt. But he doesn't, he just stares at you with that same blank stare he always has on his face and he makes no attempt as your heart crashes to the floor. It shatters into a million pieces in front of both of you, and a sad smile makes its way onto your face. How silly of you to believe that someone else would catch your fall. How asinine to trust your heart to another when you were porcelain.
