I was sent to live with my "family" after my birth mum abandoned me on the doorstep of the orphanage. She left me crying and helpless. A newborn alone with only a soft pink blanket for any sort of comfort. Apparently she left an envelope that said to be opened on the day before my 18th birthday. I always dreaded this day, I had never heard anything about her and today I was being given the only thing that connected me to her. My mum and Dad used to be loving and kind but as soon as Bailey was born, I was pushed aside for their miracle baby girl. So I had no Reason to ignore the envelope. Even if I wanted to there was some sort of unseen force pulling me towards it. I sat on the side of my bed preparing myself for whatever was inside. Little did I know this moment would deconstruct everything I thought I knew.
