Finch Crossley, known by friends as 'Foxface' had never been a fan of violence. And certainly, never a fan of the Games. But then she is reaped, and she is thrown into the blinding lights of the Capitol, and its thirst for blood.

Clove Kentwell had trained for the Games since she was a child. She had lived in all the wealth and splendor that Two could offer, and had eagerly volunteered at the Reaping. But reality is setting in now, and Clove knows she needs more than just ruthlessness to survive.

When the Games begin, and the blood starts to flow, Clove and Finch form an uneasy alliance. But will grudging respect and necessity lead to trust or will their Capitol-glorifying upbringing win out in the end?
