Chicago, Illinois. December, 2020. Marcie Kidman is one of the photographers for the Chicago Times along with a few others. She's living a normal life -what she calls normal, anyway.

With a drunk for a friend and the friend's overly protective boyfriend, Marcie has to deal with Danielle's constant staggering and Percy's almost empty threats. Besides that, the editor wants Marcie to figure out about the mysterious "V's" that are appearing all over the city.
