A new city where Vampires, the damned children of the now mythic Caine, conspire against and even kill one another for rulership of the night. One such faction, the Camarilla, employs specialized teams with a simple duty: infiltrate and destroy the opposition. The newest team is a duo: Jessie, and her sire Ian Kaiser. Yet this latest assignment will prove their most challenging yet. For their target is another member of the Camarilla. And he is not just some bureaucrat, rabble-rouser, or a corporate tool like they are used to. He is an old soldier and statesman, whose experience and power far outstrips their own. All the while, the survivors of their previous purges now plot with unseen forces to obtain revenge. For we mortal readers, their struggle is an epic of conspiracy and violence.
