Prologue

Emory Sunderland, a detective who's looked down on in her field, suddenly gets the role of a juvenile correctional officer thrust upon her. Under normal circumstances she would have rejected but in this case, the delinquent involved just might be the key to bringing down the notorious Gabriel "Nighthawk" Verona, the leader of one of the biggest mobs in the Blue District, whose very existence is shrouded in mystery.
