Cara Montgomery is heading into a downwards spiral she just can't seem to get herself out of. Her boyfriend left two years ago without a goodbye or any reason as of why. Now she has to put up with an abusive father and a coward of a mother that is too scared to leave him. Cara's best friend Abbie has tried to help but there is only so much a girl can do. At present day Ashton Irwin returns to Melbourne with his new band. As much as he tries to keep his distance from Cara, he finds himself being drawn back to her, in terms of relationships and the constant need to protect her, as Calum becomes involved with her best friend Abbie. With only Ashton and Michael knowing why he left, will Cara and Ashton finally get to the root of the problem? Although, with an unexpected turn of events and an unwanted stranger the two are separated. Will they find their way back to each other or will Ashton lose Cara forever? A/N: there is self-harm, death and highly violent chapters involved in this story, for those it may trigger don't be afraid to just skip along, I'll make sure to put a little header to the parts where the self-harm comes in and I'll put a note on the chapters that are quite violent.
