A hundred years ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. That changed, though, after Avatar Roku died and Fire Lord Sozin launched the Great War, which would last a century. His first assault was on the Air Nomads, committing the worst genocide in recorded history. Ani decided her great grandfather's legacy was not going to be her own. She was willing to do whatever it took to put an end to this war, once and for all. Even if that meant leaving her banished brother on his ship and traveling the world with the Avatar, the very person she was supposed to help bring back to the Fire Nation.
