Liam could see strings. "Big whoop. So can anyone else." You say. But no, not your regular wool or yarn strings. He can see Soulmate strings. He is the cousin of Lila Rossi. Unlike his cousin, he doesn't lie unless he has a damn good reason. But one thing he refuses to tell about is the strings. Until he snaps at Lila for lying about being soulmates with some celebrity. Marinette talks to him, only to find out his secret. She is upset that Adrien isn't her soulmate, but Liam offers to tell her who her actual soulmate is by grabbing her string. The answer surprises all involved.
