Wu Daiyu died over 16 years ago.

So it's strange that she's back now, looking much the same as she did upon the day of her death and spouting a newfound set of awe-inspiring powers. Traumatized by her violent death at the hands of Jin cultivators and at a loss as to how she is currently alive, Daiyu is consumed by the need to intact revenge, both for herself and the innocents that were under her protection. She will stop at nothing to hunt down those responsible but when a chance encounter forces her to lend a helping hand to a pair of strangers, her plans are put on hold.
