The Mother-Machine

Ivan, a mysterious collector of paper books, wanders around the crooked and unappealing streets of the digital era inside a futuristic dystopia towards a perplexing inn occupied and ran by peculiar types: Marta Di Tonalle, a woman able to do anything for some spare change, and receptionist Jason, who is very unkind despite his job. After a calm first night, the book collector sees himself entangled into a bizarre revenge plot weaved by one of the establishment's former employees. A cyberpunk scenery, drama, pinches of sarcasm and plenty of action in a not-too-optimistic future are the ingredients making up the first short story in the tales of Ivan, the book collector.
