Normal teen Bloom is an ordinary girl until she discovers she has powers whilst in the presence of Stella, fairy of the Shining Sun and Princess of Solaria.
As she discovers her powers, Bloom follows Stella to Alfea, a college for fairies where she takes on the name Princess Varanda of Callisto.
There she meets her new friends Tecna, Flora, Musa, Layla and Roxy. Bloom ends up enrolling using her own name.
But as Bloom works on controlling her powers, she discovers that her parents Mike and Vanessa are her adoptive parents.
