The English have completed nearly a century of reign over the vast and wealthy Indian subcontinent. Fantastic stories of it's untold wealth and glorious riches, of princes and Maharajas, of the profitable trade in textiles and spices, of its beautiful natural landscapes have whetted many a good man's tongue. To this land that promises romance and adventure, many have been lured to try their luck. Starry eyed Rosamund Crenshaw leaves her London home to follow her brother who has been posted in India.
