A "beautiful disaster" is a term referring to a girl or a woman who is extremely beautiful but severely emotionally or psychologically damaged. That was how someone in Hoshina Ayame's life described her once before. But she didn't think that was accurate at all.

She knew she had an aloof demeanor that caused misunderstandings and wrong impressions, but she didn't want to believe that she was damaged because of her past.

She believed that so long as she showed others that she was always looking towards the future, then everything would be fine. Yet joining the Nekoma's boy's volleyball team as the manager has her second-guessing that belief.
