Description
When King Timothy Fitzroy of New Britannia receives a letter from the Duke of California declaring his independence from the Empire of Mexico, his heart shudders at the implications. The Duke has sent that same letter to every nation in the Americas, tempting the wrath of Mexico and threatening open war on the continent. An alternative history story set across the various regions of North America. It deals with nations, characters and cultures as they may have developed had the American Revolution never been fought. Set in a counterfactual 1850, "A Letter from San Francisco" looks at what happens when these cultures collide. This is but one alternative history of the Americas, but I hope readers will be generous enough to share their comments.
