Fire and Ice. Two very different things but both can be lethal, Makayla quint has been through hell and back since the months of her orphanage going up in flames. But that all changes when she arrives at Ravenwood academy, school for the "gifted". She faces challenge after challenge. From escaping the grasps of her abusive foster father to falling for the wrong person and getting hurt. In the endless up and down rollercoaster that is the last ember watch Makayla choose if she wants to be burned by the fire that is Carmen Pierce or cooled by the ice that is Alex Holloway.
