Prologue

Katerina "Rina" Ivanov is no stranger to dealing with powerful men. Being born into the Russian Mafia has made her used to being surrounded by guns at all times. However, when her father lays claim on territory in Sicily, she realizes how outmatched she is by their ruthless Sicilian competitors. When it is clear the Russians are not welcome on the island, a deal is soon struck between the rivaling mafias to enable a peaceful coexistence. This leaves Rina with no choice but to marry the devastatingly handsome don of a Sicilian mafia family, Luciano Martelli. Though Rina has been made to comply with her father's business negotiations, she has no intentions of falling in love with Luciano who has proven himself to be nothing but cruel and insufferable since the time of their first meeting. Even so, can she last in a loveless marriage forever? If she gives Luciano a chance, could they overcome the enemies who want to tear them apart?
