Prologue

"Do it," he smiles wickedly as I hold the knife to his neck. I feel my hand quiver as he takes his hand over mine on the blade. He sinks the blade just a tad deeper into his own neck. Tears fall down my cheeks as I realize I can't go through with this. I drop the knife, leaving a small cut on his neck near his Adam's apple. I turn to run away for fear of getting caught, but he doesn't call his guards. No, he whirls me around and kisses me, that wicked smile still playing on his lips.
