"Ladies and gents, we have one minute until 1983!"
John looked down at me from the stage, he placed his bass on the stand and ran down from it.
"Beth, I know this may be too soon but I like you and-,"
"30 seconds," Simon yelled through the mic.
"I like you too John," I grabbed his hand. "But finish what you were trying to say."
"I wanted to know if you wanted to be each other's New Year's kiss?"
I felt my face heat up and my heart skipped a beat.
"15 seconds!"
"This could be a start for us," his words caught me off guard and I could tell they did the same for him.
"I'm sorry, I under-,"
"No, I want the same, John," I cut him off.

He smiled and he place his hand on my cheek.
