After the lose her last parent, her father, Ella is left with a stepmother, Lady Tremain, and two stepsisters, Anastaisa and Drizella. Ella lives by the words of her mother, "have courage and be kind," for every situation and staying strong in times of hardship. After letting go of all the maids and workers in the house, her stepmother forces Ella to take up a job as a servent and that she was always working.

One coincidental day sparks fly when she meets a man in the woods, Kit, while he was hunting, not knowing that he happened to be the prince of the kingdom and in search for a bride.

The story follows Ella and her adventure of finding her happy ever after.
