Forensic dentistry is one of 13 recognised dental specialisms in international situations. Although forensic dentistry is not a recognised speciality, there is a regulatory body that certifies forensic dentists.

After the fellowship is successfully completed, dentists will meet with the American Board of Forensic Odontology, the world's largest professional forensic dentistry organization.
