Katara had beautiful brown skin and long silky hair while Soka had strong cheekbones and a funny personality. If I was their brother why was I so different? I didn't look like them, act like them or even spoke like them. The only similarity I had was with Katara. We're both waterbenders, hiding our bending in hopes of not being persecuted by the Fire Nation. I guess that's another difference between me and them.
