Prologue

What happens when Corliss, an avid writer of fantasy, finds herself surrounded by a number of characters from her unfinished novels? Especially when some of the more malevolent characters are hell-bent on getting revenge for her abandonment?

With life and death in a delicate balance and the baddies on her tail, it's up to her to convince the few friends she might have in her characters that she never meant to throw them away. After all, facing a team of supernaturally gifted creatures where she's the only one without powers is definitely not something she wants to do alone.
