Kira was a hero, but was treated like a doll or a toy by other heros and never taken seriously. After an encounter with Dabi, who treats her with more respect than the hero she was supporting, she decided he wasn't her enemy. After a night gone awry she founds herself pregnant. He has little interest in being the father and she prefers to raise the child by herself anyways.
But he keeps popping up and into their life over the years, making it harder for them both to stick to their agreement.
