Cloud Strife has settled into a more provincial life than he thought possible after years of being a mercenary and saving the world. But when he accepts the task of helping the World Regenesis Organization deal with a new band of nasty criminals, he not only worries about the spectres from his past but wonders at the woman he meets in the process. She reminds him of those he has lost and has a past as complicated as his.
