When Stephanie Sparrow was nine, her father left in the middle of the night. Ever since, Stephanie has been her mom's emotional "rock." Now Stephanie is seventeen, and "mother care" has become a full-time job. Her older sister, Lennox, moved out two years ago, and it isn't like their mom has any friends. It's a lot. When an impulsive decision finds Stephanie and her mom moving to the city, Stephanie has never felt more trapped in her own life. But there is no escape, because what kind of daughter abandons her mother? Especially a mother in need of so much saving? When tragedy strikes, Stephanie is forced to make a decision, one which could change the entire trajectory of her life. Will she keep on trying to rescue people who don't want to be saved?
