Claire has faced a lot of problems because of her family, yet, through it all, she has tried her best to stand by them.
The Miklaesons were very close to Claire, but one day she disappeared without a trace. They searched for years only to return empty-handed and come to the conclusion that she had abandoned them. Klaus had taken the news horribly. He had started to fall for her when she disappeared.
However, Claire had not abandoned them. She would never do that to her family. Claire had gotten caught up in a mess with Esther, and it had dragged her down.
Now that she is back, she intends on protecting her family from all the evil in the world.
