Emile, Prince of the kingdom of Vegreris, is set to marry his betrothed; a princess from the other side of the Emercroft Kingdom. However, Emile second guesses himself after his father is poisoned, so he flees to Vegreris's smallest hamlet, Kugnoz, and meets Andrew, a peasant that catches his eye, but there's something about Andrew that appeals to Emile. When the kingdom of Vegreris goes on lockdown, Emile and his best friend make a discovery about the kingdom's history, and Emile vows to change family history forever.
