As they've come to find out, the highest of ranks can live the most unpleasant puppeteered lives. The most elite unit, the best of the best, Shadow knew that being referred to as the top-ranking GUN agent was just a beautiful way of describing a loyal dog. Barely holding on to nothing else but a promise to be of service, he finds himself making a series of choices against what humans believed as justice. Assigned to track down a fellow hedgehog with unthinkable speed, morals begin to toy with the ultimate life form, as the undercover prince unknowingly reminds him what life was like before he threw it all away. Life as a perfect royal or freedom with no rules? Sonic the hedgehog, prince of Green Hill, was bound between the blurred lines of this reality. After years of being the perfect toy prince, and putting on a performance worthy of perfection, the blue hedgehog finally decided his life was meant to be more than a crown and a title. So he ran from it, only to be forced to take on a new persona of a cadet, and track down a target that will prove to be a mighty foe in more ways than one. For one mortal royal and one immortal weapon, Sonic and Shadow will have to discover what it is they are really fighting for after being forced to work together as one unit. Will they decide to live as just a happy face and a cold glare? Or will they decide to rebel in order to find the true meaning of happiness and freedom?
