She lives off the land, relying on the gifts of the earth to sustain her simple, quiet existence. Amongst the trees, where there is nothing for a villain to gain and no evil for a hero to vanquish, she is safe from the troubles of the more populated urban centers. At least she was until two Gifted rivals take their brawl above her woods. When one of the superpowered combatants is knocked down a little ways from her home, Elaina brings him to the safety of her cabin -- successfully inserting herself into the world of the Gifted, a world she had spent years trying to escape.
