(This story will not align with the vampire diaries and originals episodes) What If Stefan didn't come back to mystic falls and if was just Damon that came back and he saved Elena and not Stefan. At this point, Damon found out that Katherine wasn't in a tomb and they had a mutual agreement, but Katherine wanted to know what it felt like to be apart of a family so she comes to mystic fall to get to know Elena and protect her if the need raised. After meeting each other they start up a friendship which leads to a serious relationship and then during Elena's Junior year of college Damon proposes to Elena and a year later after her graduation of med school, they have the big white wedding Elena always dreamed off. A few years later just weeks after Elena gave birth to their first baby 'Evie" Klaus finds out that there is a human doppelganger is in mystic falls and Katherine and Damon are protecting her, after his wife and former friend Caroline recognised her from a photo, the original family pack up and head for mystic falls to break the curse not knowing what they are walking into. What will happen when Elena finds out her former best friend wants to kill her to break her husband's curse. How will Damon react when his brother is helping kill his wife? Will, they ever have peace in mystic falls again?
