An Alpha is a creature that is half human and half tiger. 300 years ago they were eridicated, or that was what most people thought. But a few managed to survive. Miriam's home and family is being destroyed by the ministry and she is herself captured. Severus Snape showes us a completaly other side of himself when he sees the Alpha and he then becoms her master, but also her best friend.
