In 6th year on Halloween night each student stands in front of the Great Hall and allows 3 droplets of blood to fall into a potion. That potion once poured onto a piece of parchment shows the person's soulmate.

The marauders all 6th year Gryffindors, are to find their soulmates on October 31st, one of them hoping for a beautiful red head, the others hoping for the person they get to accept them for who they are. But none of them were expecting to all get Amara Emerys

Amara Emerys a 5th year purblood Slytherin, descendent of Merlin himself, Best friend of Regulus Black and the victim of the marauders bullying.
