Tyler Joseph is a depressed man who believes he is getting nowhere in life and decides to kill himself. In the middle of his suicide attempt, Tyler is asked to watch his neighbor's dog, Jim, but he can only see him as a man in a dog suit named Josh.

As they begin to bond and fall in love, Josh teaches Tyler about finding true happiness, but only he can help him achieve it.
