He Never Left

My best friend died four months ago.

I'll admit, it's been tough getting over it. It was so sudden, we're only seventeen. Not just that, but he was the only one I told everything to; we talked about family, identity, hopes, and dreams. Now I feel like I have no one to talk to, no one who really understands me. I'm getting through it, though, I'm alright. Or at least I thought I was.

That was before I started hearing his voice in the woods.
