Bodega

Bodega is a borrowed word from when Spaniards colonized the Philippines for more than three hundred years. It is use as a noun for rooms that are use to store objects and to keep things hidden away from prying eyes.

Kaloy Dinugo-Marquez is turning twenty-one years old and he's feeling ambivalence from it. His family decided to celebrate his birthday inside one of their prominent family business' bodega. He understands why they have to do it, but he still not sure whether he should receive his family's gift or turn it down.
