Chapter 1

It's 1552. eighteen-year-old Blanche Atterton lives with her parents at their Country Estate, Stanhope Hall. Her parents want her to be married. The best place to find a husband? Court, of course! Blanche travels to Hampton Court and later on Greenwich Palace, with her father, Thomas Atterton, her controlling twenty-three year old brother, Francis and her best friend who also happens to be her Lady's Maid, Acacia Blake. What Blanche doesn't know is that her father has already found her a suitor!
