Description
I tossed and turned all night. My night slip was stuck to my body and the bed sheets were wet. It felt horrible; like I was covered in sticky honey. I flung back the covers and sat on my beds edge, my body trembling as I held back my dinner that threatened to make a reappearance as mush. I cautiously stood up, vertigo hitting me, and I dropped to the floor, my face slamming my bedside table. I heard a deafening crack and turned my face to the side to witness my table collapse in a pile of splinters and sawdust. Through the haze in my mind, I vaguely wondered if termites had gotten into the house. I struggled up to my forearms and crawled my way into my bathroom. I levered my self up using the sink and my sensitive ear pick up a split. I stood up and looked at myself in the mirror. Something was very wrong here. I felt strong, yet fragile. It was like steel encased with silk. Only the steel was shattered.
