Book 6 in the Saving Leah Series I pause in my steps, knowing something is amiss. I take a few steps back, turning towards one of the horse stalls. I should be surprised, but to be honest I really am not. I smile to myself in amusement, watching her for a moment as she pets the horse. She regards the beast with no fear, something admirable for a creature as small and fragile as her. I don't think her pa should be worried about her and the horses, but it isn't up to me. "Does your pa know you're out here, Miss Mae?" She gasp and whirls around, making even the horse jump. The beast is contained since she's in her stall, but Mae still shouldn't be here. She's grown up on this ranch, but she doesn't know a thing about horses despite her obvious infatuation with them. "Sir..." "Out in the barn in your Sunday dress too?" Mae drops her eyes to the stable floor at my gentle scolding. What's it like to be the successful twin? Well, Ryan wouldn't exactly know. Teague is a physical therapist and served in the army. Teague has a wife and a daughter. Ryan though? Ryan has a horse... and a job as a ranch foreman, not exactly the high paying profession his parents had hoped for. With her Pa fading everyday, Mae finds herself with more responsibility than any submissive was ever was supposed to have. Struggling to keep her Pa alive and take care of her Ma as well, Mae is saddled with the stress of what comes after Pa's impending death. The girls are in danger and the inheritance is the only thing that can save them.
