Blood is thicker than water- a phrase many have heard and implemented in their everyday lives. For the Knighton brothers, it was more than just a phrase. For them it was a motto, their creed. It meant that nobody, friend or love interest, was above the familial bonds- by blood they were bound together and an outsider would be laid to rest before they could even attempt to break up the ties that held the family together. When troubling events occur in what is deemed to be their city-Memphis, Tennessee-they find themselves questioning the very words they hold so dear:
