[Completed]Five years have passed since the Black Ministry's betrayal against The Empress, their rebellion quashed at the hands of the Vangen Royal Guard. But the roots of treachery lie deep, and it is soon discovered that the Ministry did not act alone, aided by a mysterious group of Sorcerers calling themselves The Cabal. Now the Vangen march north against them, into a strange and misty land known simply as the Medial, to lay siege against the impregnable bastion-city of Middengard. A task that some consider to be impossible. But Libro has faced these impossibilities before. Tempered by the fires of rebellion, the newly inducted Captain reluctantly sets his sights on the task at hand. Along the way he must face the dangers of The Medial, derision within his own rank, and the strange, evil sorceries wielded by the Cabal. The odds are stacked against him, but luck it seems is on the Vangen' side. For Middengard is not without its enemies, both within and outside its sheer stone walls.
