This story takes place in the 19th century in Shanghai, China; it's about how one young man went from a banker to a famous detective with the help of his two friends with a strong background that deals with gangsters and mafias. While he has a high class of scholars, and his family was royalty until the Qing dynasty, they were no longer extended royalty; he had double degrees in math and medicine; he would have triple degrees if he didn't stop studying law, and his name is Lu Yao.
