Serena is a small town girl, loves to read, draw, write..what have you, but since then things have changed. Those hobbies, her escapism; doesn't help her anymore. Stuck with her thoughts, and lonely overall. She turns to a ritual to make her feel that she's truly not alone, turns out, she's truly not alone in her own head.
