following the events of Whatever it takes, Esperanza and the pogues race to clear John B name. Aside from the war brewing with Ward Cameron, Esperanza fights her own personal battle, and faces her own setbacks, but with the help of the boys John B, JJ, Pope, Esperanza's battle becomes less of a struggle than it was originally. Kiara has a falling out with one of the pogues but also meets a new friend. Pope becomes the most important person in the treasure hunt and JJ and Esperanza make a life altering decision.
