Amala: A memory lost (prologue)

Irene was found caked in her own blood on a river bank, with a maze of arrows and knives running across her body. No one knew how she had gotten there and, amazingly enough, neither did she. The only thing she remembered was her name and that she was left with a pure sense of frustration and heart felt pain. Years later, the pain and frustration caused her to grow into a cold and angry woman. Those that knew her would stand weary of her presence, and the few that tried to help would often fail. No one ever made it past her defenses until she met Ryan, and if there ever was a man that made her blood boil, it was him. Still, as much as she despised him, she couldn't deny that he was unlocking the very things she couldn't; her memories.
