An opportunity came where she could hang out at the town carnival with her tight-knit group of friends, but then the news came that her whole family had died in a horrible fire. Talk about karma. Cara gets taken to another group of kids who had also had their parents die in a fire, but at least they had siblings. Together, they embark on a journey that sends them from guardian to guardian, problem to problem. Along the way, secrets are revealed, emotions are uncovered and Cara's easy-going exterior is threatened along with her life.
