Tim and Empathy grew up together, they knew each other better than they knew themselves.

Empathy's Dad ran into some trouble with a group of mercenaries, trying to save both her parents and Empathy, Tim got himself captured by the group.

When he woke up he was in the Batcave and Empathy had gone missing....
