PROLOGUE TO ADVENTURESS

Sixteen-year-old Sera Silvercloud dreams of achieving fame and fortune in the Hero's Guild, home to the world's greatest adventurers and, unfortunately, a life far beyond the reach of a peasant girl from the slums of a failing kingdom.

But when the Queen-Regent provides an opportunity to prove her worth, Sera must overcome fear, doubt, and the monstrous inhabitants of a shadowy forest to rescue a young man gone missing and take her first step toward becoming a certified Hero.
