Prologue

No one should ever have to experience this- this bone-deep pain, this confusion, or the stark, utter blankness of memory that Penny awakes to. She has nothing to grasp onto. No memories of who she knows or what she's done or been through. All she has to remind her is the house she used to live in, and the bearded stranger sitting in the chair beside her hospital bed.
