Complete-reads theory

Have you ever wondered why you put so much effort into your story but don't have any readers? Have you ever noticed your story always gets a "#1 in (one of your tags)" but loses its rank when you are half way/almost done? Have you ever tried to save your story in the later chapters but it was helpless and you have to watch your story being forgotten and nobody reads it anymore?
I've studied these phenomenons and came up with "complete reads theory" and "new story theory".
Remember, these are just theories and might be proven to be wrong someday.
